When I first started Learning Reiki

When I first started learning Reiki, many years ago, I was often asked "is it real or is it all in the mind?"
My answer to that was, initially, "I don't know"
After many years of practicing Usui Ryoho Reiki I still do not have a definitive answer and doubt very much if anyone ever will!
What I will say is this.
When I follow my strict "rituals" prior to conducting either Hands On or Distance Healing, I do experience a great deal of Energy flowing through my body and that the majority of those who requested healing experienced the same.
So, to answer the question, for me, Yes, Reiki is "real".

Just For Today When Learning Reiki

Having read the last post you may well be asking why do the Five Principles always start with "Just For Today"?
Well, like everything else in life, learning Reiki is a gradual process and to say to yourself every morning "Just For Today" makes it a whole load easier to adjust to a passive but very positive lifetyle!!
You need time to adjust just as you do if you are giving up an addiction or similar hramful habit.
It takes time and effort and like all good things, the more effort you put in...the more you get out of it.
Learning Reiki is one of the most liberating experiences you are ever likely to have.

Five Principles When Learning Reiki

The first thing you should be told when you start learning Reiki is the Five Principles which are;
Just For Today, I Will Not Worry,
Just For Today, I will Not Anger,
Just For Today, I Will Do My Work Honestly,
Just For Today, I Will Give Thanks For Many Blessings,
Just For Today, I Will Be Kind To Everyone And Every Living Thing.

Quality Book for Learning Reiki

When you first start learning reiki you need to get yourself a good quality book from your local bookshop.
Th best and original form of Reiki is Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and is the from of Reiki on which all other forms of Reiki are based.
It is the form of Reiki as taught by the founder of Reiki, Dr Mikao Usui and then through Chujiro Hayashi and Hawayo Takata
It is important to remember this as many Reiki forms will often tell you that they are the best or most original form.
This is not the case, so beware of any Reiki Masters who tell you this!!

Learning Reiki

Learning Reiki is actually quite easy.
You can learn reiki or at least increase your understanding of reiki before actively seeking a course or local Reiki centre.
Reiki does not require any particular skills other than a genuine desire to live a peaceful life and to help/heal others.
Many people think that in order to learn and practice reiki you need to have psychic abilities, this is not the case.
All over the world, ordinary people are successfully learning and practising Reiki and passing on their skills to others.
